Healthy Stuff is a shop and cafe started by Marina Biaudet and Benny Logie.
Having lived in Dalston for the past ten years, they felt what the area lacked was a decent health food shop. So in January 2011, Healthy Stuff was opened.
Originally from Finland, Marina came to the UK to study in 2000. After completing a BA in Business in northern England and moving to London, she decided to re-train as a nutritional therapist at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition. Whilst studying, she managed a busy health shop in central London, which further fuelled her desire of making a career out of nutrition and healthy eating.
Benny grew up on the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, famously home to Winnie the Pooh. He moved to London in Spring 2000 and apart from a short stint trying to get into post-production, has spent the past 11 years working in various cafés, bars and restaurants around Shoreditch and Hackney where he has honed his coffee making skills.
In starting up Healthy Stuff, they bring together their strengths and passion towards wholesome, healthy food and good quality coffee. The intention of Healthy Stuff is not to be too stuck on labels such as organic or sugar-free. Instead, the emphasis is on providing good quality, wholesome and tasty food, and promoting a balanced diet.
Two weeks after Healthy Stuff was opened, their daughter, Ella, was born.
